Gold  Vibes CEO  dismisses the stigma around millennials and discusses ways to make them  Into Valuable, Long-term Employees

Gold Vibes CEO Jake McCall wants more people to start ditching the stigma associated with Millennials and view them as valuable, long-term employees. When most people hear the word “Millennial”, an image may pop into their minds of narcissistic or entitled kids. But, Mr. McCall wants more people to try looking at this generation in a different way. 

According to a new study conducted by the Pew Research Centre, millennials actually find far more value in the connectedness and diversity there is within a business. The study shows that in fact, they are far more accepting of change than any of the previous generations, furthermore they’re on the correct path to being the most educated than most of the generations combined. So, it is with this in mind that all the three qualities combined should actually make them assets to most companies as opposed to being viewed as a pain.  

There are a number of strategies for getting the best out of millennial and that encourages them to stay in the business.  

1.) Fix/improve your feedback system 

With the phenomenal rise of social media, millennials move at lightning pace; they also expect the world around them to do the same. If there is a long, drawn out learning process will leave them feeling undervalued, bored and anxious.   

Millennials also want to know exactly how they’re doing, they have become accustomed to instant feedback, to get the most out of them it is essential that companies provide them with instant and detailed feedback.  

2.) Corporate social responsibility is a must 

Millennials are often appreciative of a good cause, meaning they’re more likely to stay with companies that have high levels of CSR it has been recalled that 46% of millennials felt CSR was an important factor in choosing an employer.  

3.) Offer growth opportunities and pay incentives 

Contrary to popular belief about Millennials and the lazy persona linked to them. Millennials want to keep learning and growing.  They want to seek out opportunities to improve their career and gain plenty of experiences. If they feel their chance of growth is limited, they’re more likely to leave. 

4.) Set aside the stereotypes  

Nobody likes to be stereotyped; particularly millennials are no different. It’s important to wipe the slate clean and let the millennial prove themselves as worthy individuals.
